This research analyzes Indonesian-English Code Switching in UHAMKA's EFL speaking class. It seeks to understand why students code switch and its significant contributions to the language learning. Indonesia's multilingual condition and English coexistence are described in the research. English and local languages are utilized by Indonesian students in their daily lives, but Indonesian is the country's official language. The language diversity given rise to multilingual practices such: code switching and translanguaging. Hence, this research examines the most phenomenal practice such code switching. This research investigates why students switch between languages. The researcher collected data using a three-part questionnaire and interview sessions. The research found that situational factors, message-intrinsic factors, and language proficiency lead to code switching in EFL speaking class. Moreover, despite its drawbacks, code switching is still considered useful.
