ABSTRAK
Dampak dari Tutup Sudut 45° dan Sudu Tertutup Kincir Berisi Air Terhadap Kinerja Kincir Air Overshot
Rizki Afif Afandi
ramah lingkungan, namun efisiensinya perlu ditingkatkan melalui inovasi teknologi.

The Impact of 45° Angle Blades and Closed Water-filled Blades on the Performance of Overshot Water Wheels
Rizki Afif Afandi
The use of water resources as renewable energy through water wheels is an environmentally friendly
alternative, but its efficiency needs to be improved through technological innovation. The innovation
in this study is the 45° Water-Filled Angle Cover (TSIA) 45°, which was included in the research
variables to determine the power performance and efficiency of the water wheel. The experiment
used one waterwheel with three different configurations: No Cover (NC), 45° Angle Cover (AC)
45°, and TSIA 45°. The testing was conducted with flow rate variations of 1–10 m3/hour (0.5 m3/hour
intervals) and torque of 0.05 N-m. The research results showed that the maximum efficiency of
23.30% occurred in the (TT) variable with a flow rate of 2 m3/hour, producing 0.89 watts of power;
while an efficiency of 57.08% was achieved at the (TS 45°) variable with a flow rate of 1 m3/hour,
producing 1.09 watts of power; and an efficiency of 37.53% was achieved at the (TSIA 45°) variable
with a flow rate of 1.5 m3/hour, producing 1.07 watts of power. Although an increase in flow rate
generally results in higher power input, this is accompanied by a decrease in efficiency across all
configurations. On the other hand, TSIA 45° demonstrates superior performance in generating the
highest power at a flow rate of 10 m3/hour, amounting to 2.88 watts with an efficiency of 14.50%,
compared to the angle cap variation (TS 45°), which can only generate 2.85 watts with an efficiency
of 14.32%.
