Simulator Alat Penggerak Gelombang Skala Laboratorium

Johan Wirayudatama

mencapai tinggi kolom maksimum.

ABSTRACT

Laboratory Scale Wave Driving Device Simulator

Johan Wirayudatama

This study develops a labolatory scale wave generator simulator designed to produce periodic water
waves under contolled conditions. The sistem is driven by a 250W AC motor coupled with a 1:20
gearbox, providing an operating speed of approximately 60.2 rpm. The rotation is transmitted
throught a suprocket and chain to a crank mechanism with a 0,10 m radius, which convert rotary
motion into reciprocating motion of a 40 cm x 20 cm piston. The pistin periodically pushes and
draws water at on operating water depth of 30 cm. generating waves in the channel and inducing
water t on operating water depth of 30 cm, generating waves in the channel and inducing water
level oscillation in a vertical column with a 10 cm x 40 cm cross section and a 60 cm height. The
design is evaluted using calculations ofrotational speed, piston velocity, flow rate, and the
theoretical water rice is limited by hydraulic losses and minor leakage, so it does not consistenly
reach the maximum column height.
