ABSTRACT
DESIGNING A PUBLIC VOIP NETWORK ON MIKROTIK ROUTERS
USING SESSION INITIATION PROTOCOL (SIP)-BASED IP PHONE
DEVICES IN THE PAKISJAYA RESORT SECTOR OF KARAWANG
The Pakisjaya Police's current communications system uses analog telephones (PSTN),
which are inflexible and expensive. This complicates internal coordination, necessitating a better
network communications system.
This research focuses on creating a SIP-based public VoIP system using a MikroTik router
and IP Phone. The research includes topology design, system configuration, and quality of service
(QoS) tests such as delay, jitter, and packet loss. The goal is to create a better communication system
and analyze performance and user opinions. The method used is a case study with all Pakisjaya
Police personnel as the population, and a sample of officers who use the system. Data were collected
through observation, interviews, documentation, and QoS technical tests.
As a result, the VoIP system runs stably, can be used for internal and external calls, and
has a fairly good QoS rating for voice communications. Users find it more flexible, less expensive,
and improves coordination compared to legacy systems.
