Pemanfaatan Citra Landsat 9 OLI-02/TIRS-02 Menggunakan Algoritma Random Forest Untuk Klasifikasi Potensi Migas Di Jawa Barat Bagian Utara
Muhammad Rizqie Viandrawan
kemajuan eksplorasi meliputi keterbatasan akses infrastruktur menuju lokasi target,
tingginya biaya operasional, serta minimnya informasi geologi bawah permukaan
(subsurface) yang akurat dan terkini. Salah satu wilayah dengan potensi hidrokarbon yang
menjanjikan adalah daratan bagian utara Provinsi Jawa Barat. Namun demikian, proses
mendukung proses identifikasi area prospektif migas. Penelitian ini mengadopsi
pendekatan teknologi penginderaan jauh berbasis citra satelit serta pemanfaatan algoritma
machine learning, khususnya Random Forest (RF), dalam platform Google Earth Engine
(GEE).
data gaya berat berupa Free Air Gravity.
dijangkau.

UTILIZATION OF LANDSAT 9 OLI-02/TIRS-02 IMAGES USING THE RANDOM FOREST ALGORITHM FOR CLASSIFYING OIL AND GAS POTENTIAL IN NORTHERN WEST JAVA
Muhammad Rizqie Viandrawan
Oil and gas (hydrocarbon) exploration in onshore areas continues to face significant
challenges, particularly in Indonesia. The main factors hindering progress include limited
infrastructure access to target locations, high operational costs, and a lack of accurate and
up-to-date subsurface geological data. One of the promising regions for hydrocarbon
potential is the northern part of West Java Province. However, exploration activities in this
area have not yet produced optimal results, as conventional methods often fail to capture
the geospatial complexity of the region. Therefore, a more advanced and efficient
alternative approach is required to support the identification of prospective oil and gas
zones. This study adopts a remote sensing-based approach using satellite imagery
combined with machine learning algorithms, specifically the Random Forest (RF)
algorithm, implemented through the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. The data
utilized includes Landsat 9 satellite imagery and several relevant spectral indices. In
addition, geological indices such as the clay index and iron index, topographic data from
SRTM, principal component analysis (PCA), surface texture data from GLCM, and Free
Air Gravity data were also employed. The classification model was developed using
training and testing data points that had been previously validated for hydrocarbon
potential. The classification results indicate an accuracy level of 92.53% with a Kappa
coefficient value of 0.85, reflecting strong model performance. These findings suggest that
the integration of remote sensing and machine learning provides an adaptive and efficient
solution for hydrocarbon exploration, especially in hard-to-reach onshore regions.
