The Implementation of Cooperative Learning Method Two Stay Two Stray in Teaching Reading Narrative Text at Mts. Darul Muslim Citeureup-Bogor

This research is a Classroom Action Research. It aims to improve students’ reading comprehension and reading aloud. This research was conducted to the VIII (eigth) grade students of MTs Darul Muslim Citeureup - Bogor in academic year 2016/2017 through the implementation of Cooperative Learning Two Stay Two Stray. Research was conducted in three cycles. The data collecting techniques were observation and interview. The instruments used in this research were observation, field note, and interview and two kinds of test which are reading aloud and reading comprehension test. Data analysis technique were used the descriptive data analysis with
quantitative percentage and qualitative data analysis. Based on the result of this
research, the implementation of cooperative learning type two stay two stray
(TSTS) can improve students’ reading comprehension of eigth grade students of
MTs Darul Muslim Citeureup - Bogor in academic year 2016/2017. It is proven by reading comprehension test, the improvements of the average score of the students’ reading skill in pretest is 53.12 increased in cycle 1 is 65, then in cycle 2 decreased 62.5, then in cycle 3 increased become 63.75, and in post test the average is 71, it is passed the target that should be 70. While in presentage of students who reach the target in reading comprehension test are in pre-test is 12.5% increased in cycle 1 is 37.5%, then in cycle 2 increased 18.75%, then in cycle 3 increased become 62.5%, and in post test the average is 75% it is reached the target that should be 75. Based on the reading aloud test, the score of students’ learning activities increased from pre-test is the improvements of the average score of the students’ reading aloud in pretest is 53.56 increased in cycle 1 is 61, then in cycle 2
increased 62.25then in cycle 3 increased become 67.31, and in post test the
average is 67.93. The presentage of each cycles from pre-test until post test can
discribe as follow : are in pre-test is 6.25%increased in cycle 1 is 18.75%then in
cycle 2 increased 37.35%, then in cycle 3 increased become 56.25%, and in post
test the average is 62.25% it is not reached the target yet because the target should
be 75.
