Nowadays, the use of Google Translate is increasingly being used by students because Google Translate is an easy-to-access tool for students to use in English language learning. Students preferred to use Google Translate rather than a dictionary, especially for English learning at school because Google Translate can search for words, phrases, and sentences quickly. This study aimed to find out the perceptions of using Google Translate for descriptive writing, specifically to the Senior High School students’ perception. The participants of this study consist of 200 participants of Senior High School. The instruments used close-ended and open-ended questionnaires for gathered the data. Through mixed-method analysis, it can be seen how students perceive using Google Translate for their descriptive writing. The findings showed students felt that they needed to revise or modify their writing after translating sentences from Google Translate, based on students' perceptions, the tool is not quite accurate yet, but even so, students
