This study analyzed student‟s errors in writing recount text of the second grade students of MTS Negeri 6 Jakarta. The purpose of this study was to find out the types of mistakes and erros made by students in writing recount texts. This research was conducted at MTS Negeri 6 Jakarta involving 22 students of eighth
grade. The author used a both quantitative and qualitative descriptive approach and used error analysis procedures to clarify explanations. The author concludes that the most common mistake students make is using capitalization, punctuation, word choice, verbs, and word form. As a result of this study, the students should learn more about word order, especially the use in recount text. They should learn more about grammar to improve their knowledge and reduce their errors in word order. The teacher as a facilitator must be able to facilitate the needs of students in any material.
