The research was conducted to get the data of students’ perception towards Kahoot as their English Grammar Assessment Tool from small-scale samples of senior-level students in two schools in East Jakarta. To be highlighted, the perception is to interpret the meaning impressions of each individual toward things. Thus, in this context, the usage of Kahoot can be identified in the view of students’ an assessment tool.
In the writer’s experience of carrying out this research, the writer employed a mixed method combining qualitative and quantitative research in the form of G-form that consisted of 24 items in closed and open-ended questionnaires to obtain the data. The utilizing instruments used by the writer were Microsoft Excel and SPSS of the 25 version. In this investigation of the research, 234 high school students in East Jakarta who had experienced using Kahoot in the classroom became the subject of interest. The outcomes of the closed-ended questionnaire show that the writer has calculated only the big percentage for each three categories in Features and Display, Experience (likeness and Interest), and Kahoot in Grammar Assessment. Moreover, the top positive results in Features and Display based on the percentage is 67.91% in Strongly Agree and Disagree. Other sides for the highest score on Experience and Kahoot in Grammar Assessment are 61.91% and 60.97%. in addition, the open-ended questionnaire has Positive answers on each of 4 questions that have 210, 181, 177 and 194 frequencies toward the use of Kahoot in English grammar assessment tool.
As a result, the writer can demonstrate that Kahoot method applied to 234 East Jakarta high school students to investigate their perception was highly effective. In particular, the Kahoot categories such Features and Displays, Experience (likeness and Interest), and Kahoot in Grammar Assessment have been considered as more beneficial toward students than those who held other perspectives.
