The Relationship between Student's Self-Confidence and Their Storytelling Abilities (A Quantitative Study In The Eighth Grade Of Junior High School Muhammadiyah 4 Jakarta)

This study aims to determine and describe the relationship between self-confidence and storytelling ability .The problem of this study referred to the relationship between self-confidence and story-telling ability. The study was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Jakarta. The population of this study was 8 grade at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Jakarta and The sample of this study was 25 students at the 8B class. The writer used quantitative method. The data collection used two instruments, self-confidence questionnaire and storytelling test and analyzed by using Microsoft Excel and Spss. The result of the research analysis show that there was a positive correlation between self-confidence and story-telling ability at 8B class of SMP Muhammadiyah Jakarta. If self-confidence was low, storytelling ability was also low and if self-confidence was high, storytelling ability was also high.
