This study was to determine the factors that influence students English speaking anxiety in class and the effect of speaking anxiety on students' performance in class and suggest solutions overcome speaking anxiety. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach that aims to answer the questions posed. In collecting data, the author uses a questionnaire. The questionnaire that will be used is adapted from the foreign language class anxiety scale proposed by Horwitz and Cope in 1986. The sample of this study was class XII of SMA Muhammadiyah 4. The results of the percentage of student responses were re-categorized into three types of anxiety. The most significant anxiety was in the test anxiety category, with a percentage of 42% of students, followed by communicative apprehension, where 37% of students felt anxious. Lastly, 21% of students felt anxious because they were afraid of negative evaluations. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the percentage results determine the students'' anxiety factors in speaking English.
