English Language Education Study Programme Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka University. The purpose of this study is to determine objectively whether or not there is a significant difference between the eighth-grade students' narrative writing ability before and after treatment using the Dictogloss Technique at SMPN 1 Klapanunggal in the academic year 2022/2023. The research's method was quantitative. The pre-experimental method and one group pretest-posttest design were used in the technique and design. The participants in this study are the eighth-graders of SMPN 1 Klapanunggal Bogor. The sample for this study was made up of 40 students utilizing purposive sampling. The result reveals that the degree of freedom 39 at a significant level of 0.05 is 1.68 based on the t-table. The difference between the t-value tests and the t-value table however, yields a t-test value of 17.03 instead. It can be said that the t-test value (17.03>1.68) is higher than the t-table value. As a result, the research's alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Thus, it can be inferred that there is a significant difference between the students' narrative writing ability before and after using the Dictogloss Technique of the eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Klapanunggal in the academic year of 2022/2023.
