This study investigated junior high school students’ perception of enthusiasm and difficulties in grammar mastery. The current study purposed to explore students’ perception for overcoming difficulties in grammar mastery. The questionnaires were used to reveal the participants’ factors that interfere with grammar mastery. The result revealed passion of participants to master English grammar can be seen from 449 strongly agree and agree (61.17%) despite the difficulties they had to face with 285 answers of strongly agree and agree answers (38.83%). The findings explained that participants’ high interest in learning accompanied by strong motivation gave them encourage to further study grammar to the next level as foreign language learners. Based on the close-ended questionnaire data analysis, most of students had positive perception of difficulties in grammar mastery process.
