The objective of the research is to find the empirical evidence of whether or not there is a significant Relationship Between Students’ Self-Efficacy and their Writing Abilities for the Second Semester in the Tenth Grade Students of SMK Negeri 40 East Jakarta in the 2021/2022 Academic Year.
The writer used the quantitative survey method by using correlation technique. The population of this research was the Tenth Grade Students of SMK Negeri 40 Jakarta in the 2021/2022 Academic Year, and the writer only took 3 Class consisting of 101 students for the sample of the research. The instruments used for this research were the questionnaire of self-efficacy and the test of writing ability. The scores of the two variables were calculated by using the formula of Pearson’s Product Moment
The finding that robserved around 0.94 and r table is around 0.35 in the significant level of 0.05 with df = 101 – 1 = 100. In other words, observed is higher than rtable (ro > rt). As the result, Ho is rejected and Hi is accepted. It showed that there is relationship between self efficacy and the writing abilities. From the t-test, it was known that the result of tobserved is around 5.51 ttabel = 1.70 (ro > rt). Therefore, H0 and Hi accepted. It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between self efficacy and students’ writing abilities of the eleventh grade students of SMKN 40 East Jakarta.
