The aim of the research is to investigate the implementation and the frequency of
teacher questioning strategy used on eight grade student at 257 Junior High
School East Jakarta. teacher questioning strategy is one of popular strategy used
by the teacher that combines students active-participation in asking and
answering the question. This strategy is expected to made the student more active
and confident during the learning activity also to stimulate student language and
conceptual ability level. The teacher questioning strategy applied in teaching
English subject could be an effective strategy. It was very useful for the
improvement of the students language ability. The method used in this research
was qualitative method. The design of this research was descriptive qualitative
design to know the the implementation of teacher questioning strategy on 257
Junior High School. The result can be seen that using teacher questioning
strategy as the strategy is not show significant different. also showed that there
was a different number of the frequency of the question due to the topic of the
learning material. It can be concluded that teacher questioning strategy is
effective to be used in teaching English subject but will be better assist by other
teaching method than standalone. It suggested that the teacher should consider
that teacher questioning strategy is a good method in teaching english since it is
could boost students confidence and stimulate their way of thinking.
