This study aimed to investigate the level and factor contributing to foreign language speaking anxiety during the pandemic. The researcher used a mixed-method design in this study. 86 participants from English majors in the fourth semester of the University of Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr.Hamka participated in this study. The data were collected through questionnaires and interviews and analyzed by using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. The results revealed that the students experienced a moderate level of speaking anxiety during the pandemic. The results also showed that fear of negative evaluation, fear of making mistakes, fear of being asked immediate questions,communication apprehension, and the language barrier were identified as factors that contribute to the speaking anxiety experienced by the students during the pandemic.
