The purpose of this study was to investigate the major listening comprehension problems encountered by the vocational school students. In this study, the writer used three instruments: Questionnaire, Interview and observation to determine the students’ major listening comprehension problems. This study was participated by 30 first-grade Multimedia of vocational school students. The writer used both quantitative and qualitative method to analyze the data. The result of this study exposed that many first-grade students of vocational school, majoring in multimedia, are facing some problems related to the physical settings, listening material, the listener itself, the speaker, the psychological characteristics, failing in concentrate and linguistic feature. This findings of this study also revealed that the major problems encountered by the students are the problems related to physical condition where they find it difficult to understand the spoken language when their surrounding are noisy and they find it troublesome to understand the unclear spoken language, which is caused by low quality listening equipment.
