The aim of this study is to elicit students’ perception of the difficulties in oral
presentation at University of Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka for the students on the
fourth semester in 2018/2019 academic year. The method was used qualitative
approach that applies a survey design through observation, closed ended
questionnaire, and semi structured interview. Observation and closed ended
questionnaire were used to determine the factors of the difficulties in oral
presentation, while semi structured was used to know the students’ perception in the
difficulties of oral presentation. The data of the observation was analyzed narratively.
The result of closed ended questionnaire was analyzed through 5 Likert-scale. The
result of the interview was presented in description form. The participants of this
study were thirty-three college students, the age are about twenty years old. The result
of the data showed several factors that occur in oral presentation learning method.
The result that come from the data showed the several factors of the difficulties that
are lack of performance skill, response of audience, lack of self-confidence, and lack
of vocabulary mastery are the most factors that contributing during oral presentation
