The objective of the study was to know the evidence whether or not the
contents of the English summative test for the first semester of the tenth grade
students of MA Negeri 1 Bogor in the 2016/2017 academic year was valid.
In this research, the writer used the descriptive comparative method. The
writer compared the set of English summative test with the number of required
items in the syllabus used in teaching and learning activities. The instruments
were in the forms of checklists arranged based on objectives and materials in
syllabus of the 2013 Curriculum. The objectives and materials of each language
skills were identified and arranged into the lists. They were changed into the
questions as instrument. From the analysis, the writer found that English
summative test administered on MA Negeri 1 Bogor was in line with the content
of 2013 curriculum.
Then, the percentage of the objective in reading skill was 100%. Then, the
materials of social function was 66.6%, the structure text was 80%, the language
features was 28.6% and the sub materials of topic was 30%. Therefore, the
calculation of all percentage is 61%. Based on Arikunto’s statement, it showed
that the content validity of the English summative test for the first semester of the
tenth grade students of MA Negeri 1 Bogor in the 2016/2017 academic year is
good test
