The Objective of the research was to answer the question of the research whether or not the English summative test for the tenth grade students of the first semester of SMA Negeri 27 central Jakarta in the 2017/2018 academic year has good content validity. This research used the descriptive analysis method, the writer analyzed the set of the English summative test with the number of required items in the English syllabus which used both reading skill materials and reading skill objectives. The research instrument was the checklists forms, English summative test and syllabus. For the technique of the data analysis, the writer used the simple percentage formula from Arikunto.
Based on the data analysis, the writer found that the content validity of the English summative test was administered on SMA Negeri 27 Central Jakarta was 84,6%. Based on the syllabus of the 2013 curriculum. Based on Arikunto’s scheme, it can be concluded that the content validity of summative test at SMA Negeri 27 central Jakarta for the tenth grade students in the first semester was good.
The writer concludes that, the English summative of SMA Negeri 27 Central Jakarta have a good content validity. Benefit of the research result was the teacher know how to analyze the content validity of the English summative test and how to make a good test.
