This research is aimed to find the empirical evidence of the quality of
content validity of the English summative test for the eighth grade students of
SMPN 222 Jakarta in the second semester of the 2017/2018 academic year. The
descriptive-comparative analysis method had been used as the method of this
research to find out the conformity of the test with the syllabus of KTSP. For the
instrument of the study, the writer uses the checklist in the form of tables
containing the syllabus requirements. The data then are calculated by using simple
statistical, and interpreted using Arikunto’s scheme of conformity level. The
finding of the analysis indicates that the English summative test that was
administrated by SMPN 222 Jakarta is in line to the requirements of the KTSP
syllabus. The percentage of the content of English summative test that was
conformed is 60.69%. It means, the content validity of the English summative test
for the eighth grade students of the SMPN 222 Jakarta in the second semester of
the 2017/2018 academic year is good enough.
