The research was done to find out whether or not the English summative test of SMA Negeri 31 Jakarta for the twelfth grade students in the second semester in the 2016/2017 academic year has a good face validity. The instrument is in the form of checklist table which was arranged based on the experts mentioned about criteria of face validity. The population in this research are 44 items; 40 items are multiple choices and 4 items are essay tests. The writer only analyzed 40 items in the form of the multiple choice items. The method of this research was qualitative analysis. The result of the analysis showed that the test is not good fully in term of face validity criteria. It showed some of the test items fulfill the criteria of good face validity, but others do not fulfill the criteria of good face validity. It means that the English summative test of SMA Negeri 31 Jakarta for the twelfth grade students in the second semester in the 2016/2017 academic year does not have good face validity.
