The objective of the research is to find the empirical evidence of whether or not the English summative test for the eight grade students based on the KTSP curriculum at SMPN 263 Jakarta on the first semester in the 2017/2018 academic year has a good content validity.
This research used the descriptive analysis method. In this case, the writer analyze the a set of the English summative test content with a number of required items in the English syllabus that used in both reading materials and reading objectives. The instruments were in the checklists forms arranged based on materials and objectives in the English syllabus of the KTSP Curriculum. The materials and objectives of each language skill were identified and arranged into the lists. They were changed into the questions as instrument. From the analysis, the writer found that the content validity of the English summative test which was administered on SMP Negeri 263 East Jakarta was appropriate with the syllabus content of KTSP Curriculum is 76.92%. Referring toArikunto’s scheme, it can be concluded that the content validity of the English summative test made by teachers for the eighth grade students in the first semester of SMP Negeri 263 East Jakarta is sufficient.
