The objective of the research was to get empirical evidence of whether or not the
content of the English summative test for the tenth grade students of SMAN 5
Tambun Selatan, Bekasi in the first semester in 2015/2016 academic year was in
line with the English syllabus of School-Based Curriculum. The writer used
comparative descriptive analysis method. In this case, the writer compared the
English summative test with learning materials and objectives based on syllabus
in School-Based Curriculum (KTSP). The instruments were in the forms
checklists which were arranged based on the materials and objectives in syllabus
of KTSP. The materials and objectives of each language skill are identified and
arranged into lists. Then they were changed into questions as instrument. The result of the analysis showed that the conformity between the test and the syllabus was 46%. Based on Arikunto’s scheme of conformity level, the English summative test for the tenth grade student of the first semester at SMAN 5 Tambun Selatan Bekasi has sufficient validity.
