The objective of the study was to find out the empirical evidence of whether or not the English summative test for the eight grade students at SMPN 49 Jakarta in the first semester un the 2016-2017 academic year was in line with the English syllabus of 2013 Curriculum.
Based on the analysis, the writer found that the English summative test item content which administrated in the SMPN 49 Jakarta were valid between the material of the English summative test focusing on reading skill. The qualitative analysis have been used as the method of this study to find out the conformity of the test with the content of the English syllabus of 2013 Curriculum. For this study, the writer used checklist to collect the data, the data then were calculated by using simple statistical formula P=f/N x 100% and interpreted used Arikunto’s scheme of the conformity levels. The results of the study indicated that the English summative test had % that were in line with the objective and materials in the English Summative test had % that Curriculum. According to Arikunto’s conformity level, the English summative test for the eight grade students of SMPN 49 Jakarta which was administered in the First semester has been sufficient valid and it can be used for the next time. Hopefully, the English summative test can be improved. Related to this, the teachers know how to analyze the content validity of the English summative test.
