The objective of this study is to find the empirical evidence of the reliability of the English summative test for the tenth-grade students of SMAN 2 Gunung Putri in the second semester of the 2016/2017 academic year. The method used to estimate the reliability of the English summative test in this study is parallel form method. The population of the study was all the tenth-grade students’ scores of SMAN 2 Gunung Putri in the second semester of the 2016/20117 academic year. The writer took score of class X MIA 1 as the sample of the study and analyzed the data by using Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation.
The data were collected through a set of English summative test and parallel test. Based on the statistical data analysis, it shows that 𝑟𝑜 is 0.75 and and 𝑟𝑡 is 0.304. It can be concluded that 𝑟𝑜> 𝑟𝑡 (0.75 > 0.304). Because 𝑟𝑜 is higher than 𝑟𝑡, so that 𝐻𝑜 is rejected and 𝐻𝑖 is accepted. It means that there is a significant correlation between English summative test and the parallel test for the tenth-grade students of SMAN 2 Gunung Putri in the second semester of the 2016/2017academic year.
From the result above, it can be concluded that the English summative test for the tenth-grade students of SMAN 2 Gunung Putri in the second semester of the 2016/2017 academic year is reliable.
