An Analysis of the Content Validity of the English Summative Test at the Tenth Grade Students of the First Semester on SMAN 107 Jakarta in the 2016/2017 Academic Year

The purpose of this study was to find out if the content of the English Summative Test for the Tenth Grade Students of the First Semester on SMAN 107 Jakarta in the 2016/2017 Academic Year is in line with the English Syllabus of the 2013 Curriculum content or not. The object of the research was the items of the English summative test. The method used in this research was descriptive comparative analysis in which the writer analyzed and compared the items of the English summative test with the learning materials in the syllabus as well as the indicators.
The instrument of the research used checklist forms which were arranged and based on materials and objectives in syllabus of 2013 Curriculum. The materials and objectives of each language skills were identified and arranged into the lists. They were changed into the questions as instrument. The descriptive analysis technique was used by the writer. The formula is P = X 100%.
From the writer’s analysis, it was found that English summative test conducted on SMAN 107 Jakarta was in line with the content of syllabus. The data of the percentage of the materials conformity in the sub materials of oral and written text was 87.5%, the social function was 83%, the utterances was 87.5%, and the language features was 50%. Meanwhile, the percentage of the objectives of listening skill was 0%. The percentage of the objectives of speaking skill was 0%. The percentage of the objectives of reading skill was 71.4%. The percentage of the objectives of writing skill was 71.4%. Furthermore, the writer obtained the result of calculation all the percentages of all conformity levels of the English summative test was 47.42%. Based on the criterion of Arikunto, if the result is 41% - 60% it means the test has been sufficient valid. The content of English summative test of the tenth grade students on SMAN 107 Jakarta of the first semester in 2016/2017 academic year was sufficiently valid.
