The objective of this research was to get empirical evidence whether or not
the English try-out test for the twelfth grade students of SMA PKP Jakarta Islamic
School reliable. The writer used split-half method in estimating the reliability. The
test was administered on Wednesday, February 7th 2017. The data was analyzed
through Pearson‟s Product Moment Correlation. The ro (0.733) is higher than rt
(0.329). Because the ro > rt, so Ho was rejected and Hi was accepted. Therefore,
the scores of odd numbers and the score of even numbers have been correlated. It
means, the English Try-Out Test for Twelfth Grade Students of SMA PKP Jakarta
