The Content Validity of the English Summative Test for the Tenth Grade Students of SMAN 22 Jakarta in the first semester of the 2016/2017 Academic Year

The objective of the research was to find the empirical evidence whether or not the content of the English summative test for the tenth grade students of SMAN 22 Jakarta in the first semester of the 2016/2017 academic year has been valid.
The research used the comparative descriptive analysis method. In this case, the writer compared the English Summative test with learning materials and objectives based on syllabus of 2013 Curriculum. The instruments were in the forms of checklists which were arranged based on the materials and objectives in the syllabus of 2013 Curriculum. The materials and objectives of each language skills were identified and arranged into lists. Then, they were changed into questions as instrument to collect data. The data was calculated by using statistical formula P = F/N x 100% and interpreted the scheme of conformity level from Arikunto’s scheme of level validity.
From the analysis, the writer found that the English summative test which was administered in SMAN 22 Jakarta in line with the content of syllabus. The percentage of the materials in oral and written indicators were 7,5%, the social function were 67%, the utterances were 7,5%, and the language features were 56,25%. Then, the indicator of reading skill were 85,7%. Therefore, the calculation of all percentage is 36,43%. Based on Arikunto’s scheme of the conformity level, the content validity of the English summative test for the tenth grade students of SMAN 22 Jakarta in the first semester of the 2015/2016 academic year was less good.
