The objective of this study was to find out the empirical evidence of the quality of the English summative test for the second semester students of the seventh grade of SMPN 106 Jakarta in terms of the difficulty level or facility value, discriminating power, and the effectiveness of distractor. The test was held in SMPN 106 Jakarta on July 2017. The test consisted of 50 items test which had four options. The respondents of this research were 44 students which were divided into 12 students of the upper group, 20 students of medium group, and 12 students of lower group. The result of the data analysis showed that, not of 50 items, 3 items are categorized in the difficulty level, 25 items are categorized in the medium level and 22 items are categorized in the easy level. In terms of discriminating power, it is discoverd of 50 items, there have been 37 items (74%) can be accepted and 13 items (26%) should be revised. It could be concluded that the test have not fulfilled the criteria of a good quality test. Furthermore, the writer gave the alternative revision of the test. Based on the analysis, the writer concludes that English summative test which was administered to the students of SMPN 106 Jakarta in the seventh grade in the second semester 2016/2017 academic year did not fulfill the criteria of good test.
