The Content Validity of the English Summative Test for the Tenth Grade Students of SMA Muhammadiyah Cileungsi in the first semester of the 2015/2016 Academic Year

The objective of the research was to find the empirical evidence whether or not the content of the English summative test for the tenth grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah Cileungsi in the first semester of the 2015/2016 academic year has been valid.
The research used the comparative descriptive analysis method. In this case, the writer compared the English Summative test with learning materials and objectives based on syllabus of 2013 Curriculum. The instruments were in the forms checklists which were arranged based on materials and objectives in syllabus of 2013 Curriculum. The materials and objectives of each language skills were identified and arranged into the lists. Then, they were changed into the questions as instrument to collect data. The data was calculated by using statistical formula P = F/N x 100% and interpreted used scheme of conformity level from Arikunto’s scheme of level validity.
From the analysis, the writer found that the English summative test which was administered on SMA Muhammadiyah Cileungsi in line with the content of syllabus. The percentage of the materials in oral and written indicators are 87,5%, the social function is 67%, the utterances are 87,5%, and the language features are 68,75%. Then, the indicator of reading skill is 85,7%. Therefore, the calculation of all percentage is 49,55%. Based on Arikunto’s scheme of the conformity level, it means that the content validity of the English summative test for the tenth grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah Cileungsi in the first semester of the 2015/2016 academic year has been sufficiently valid.
