The research was done aiming to find the empirical evidence for the conformity
and/or inconformity of the English summative test with the existing English
syllabus of 2013 curriculum required for the eleventh grade students of SMA
Muhammadiyah 4 Jakarta in the first semester of 2016/2017 academic year. The
objects of the research are the English summative test and the English syllabus of
2013 curriculum. The comparative analysis had been used as the method of this
research to find out the conformity of the test with the syllabus of 2013
curriculum. For this investigation, the writer used checklist to collect data. The
data then was calculated by using simple statistical formula C = T/S x 100% and
interpreted used scheme of conformity level that the writer modified from
Arikunto‟s scheme of level of validity. The data of the research indicated that the
percentage of validity of English summative test administered by students of
SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Jakarta is 60,5%. It means that the content validity of the
English summative test for the eleventh grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah 4
Jakarta in the first semester of 2016/2017 academic year is valid, or based on the
scheme of level validity that the content of English summative test can be
categorized valid.
