The objective of the study was to find the empirical evidence of the writing exercises in the Bahasa Inggris textbook for semester 1 students of the tenth grade of senior high schools in order to prove that they are relevant with the Curriculum 2013. The method which was used in conducting this research was qualitative research. The writer involved a descriptive comparative analysis that is inspecting and comparing the content of the Bahasa Inggris textbook with the syllabus of Curriculum 2013. The object of the study was the concordances of the writing exercises in the textbook entitled Bahasa Inggris written by Utami Widiati, Zuliati Rohmah, and Furaidah, and published by Kemendikbud, for semester 1 students of the tenth grade of senior high schools, with the ones stated in the English syllabus of Curriculum 2013. The instrument of this study was checklist. The checklist is used for each section which matches between the content of the Bahasa Inggris textbook with the syllabus of Curriculum 2013. The research findings showed that the average percentage of writing exercises in the Bahasa Inggris textbook which are relevant with Curriculum 2013 is 62.42 % which means that the conformity level of writing exercises in the textbook with the ones listed in Curriculum 2013 is good. Therefore, the writing exercises developed in the English textbook entitled Bahasa Inggris for semester 1 students of the tenth grade of senior high schools are relevant with a Curriculum 2013.
