The Quality of “Bahasa Inggris” Textbooks for The First and Second Semester of The Eleventh Grade Students Based on The 2013 Curriculum

The writer’s aim by his research was to know whether or not the “Bahasa Inggris” textbook published by ministry of education and culture of Indonesia for the eleventh grade of the senior high school conform with the 2013 curriculum. The method of the study was a descriptive comparative analysis method. The writer compared “Bahasa Inggris” textbook with the 2013 Curriculum, especially in the learning component. The instruments of the study were checklists containing the aspects of the basic competences and the learning materials.
The results were as follows. From the conformity of the content English textbook which has 63 indicators, 40 indicators had been fulfilled. It means 64% of the content of “Bahasa Inggris” textbook for the first semester fulfilled the learning component of the 2013 curriculum. The conformity of the content English textbook which has 94 indicators, 63 indicators had been fulfilled. It means 67% of the content of “Bahasa Inggris” textbook for the second semester fulfilled the learning component of the 2013 curriculum. In the result, these textbooks are in line with the 2013 Curriculum and categorized as a fair text book
Based on the data, the writer concluded that the contents of the English textbooks entitled “Bahasa Inggris” for the first and second semester of the eleventh grade students of senior high schools have been in line with the 2013 Curriculum, and they are still acceptable to be used by school.
