The purpose of the research is to discover the Effectiveness of Using Guessing Games to Increase Students’ Vocabulary to the Seventh Grade Students of junior high school. The writer used a quasi experimental method in this research. The population of the research is was the entire seventh grade in first semester at SMPN 1 Balaraja. There were 400 students distributed into ten classes were taken from classes from seventh grade in first semester VII.6 as experiment class and VII.6 as control class.
The result of the research shows that using Guessing Games in teaching students’ vocabulary is effective. The result is tobserved 2.5 and ttable 1.67 with 0.95 significance level because to > t t, it means that there is a significant effectiveness of using guessing games to increase students’ vocabulary to the seventh grade students at SMPN 1 Balaraja.
Based on the empirical evidence above, the writer concluded that the using guessing game is effective to teaching and learning activities. For the students active role as a peer tutor to further enhance the success of the group.
