The objective of the research is to find out the empirical evidence of
whether or not the English Summative test for the twelfth grade students in the
second semeter of SMAN 31 Jakarta in the 2016-2017 academic year is in line
with the English syllabus of 2013 Curriculum.
This research used the comparative descriptive analysis method. The
writer compared the English summative test with the English learning materials
and objectives (listening, reading writing) based on 2013 Curriculum. The
instrument that the writer used was tables of checklist arranged based on the
materials and objectives in the syllabus of 2013 Curriculum. The materials and
objectives of each language skills were identified and arranged into lists. Then
they were changed into question forms as instrument.
The result shows that the conformity percentage between the the test with
the syllabus is: (1) listening materials 39%; (2) reading materials 23%; (3)
writing materials 37%; (4) listening skill objective 39%: (5) reading skill
objectives 50%; (6) and finally writing skill objectives 25%. Therefore the
calculation of all percentages was 35%. Based on Arikunto’s scheme of
conformity level, it can be concluded that the content validity of the test with
the syllabus has been less conformed. In other words, the English summative
test for the twelfth grade students in the second semester of SMAN 31 Jakarta
in the 2016-2017 academic year is not in line with the syllabus of 2013
Curriculum.
