The objective of the study was to find out the empirical evidence whether or not the English summative test for the eleventh grade students at SMAN 1 Parung in the first semester in the 2016-2017 academic year was in line with the English syllabus of 2013 curriculum.
The study used descriptive comparative analysis method. In this case, the writer compared the English summative test item content with the learning materials and objectives based on the syllabus of the 2013 curriculum. The instruments were the form of checklist based on both materials and syllabus of the 2013 curriculum. The materials of each language skill were identified and arranged into the lists. They changed into the questions for the instrument of the study.
Based on the analysis, the writer found that the English summative test item content which administrated in the SMAN 1 Parung were valid between the material of the English summative test focusing on reading skill, grammar/structure, and vocabulary with the syllabus. Then, the total percentage of materials were around 57,5%. It can be concluded that the content validity of the English summative test of SMAN 1 Parung is valid and the English summative test can be used in the future. Related to this, the teachers know how to analyze the content validity of the English summative test.
