The objective of the research is to find out whether the English summative
test in the second semester for the eighth grade students at SMP Buddhis
Silaparamita East Jakarta has a content validity or not. This research uses
comparative descriptive method. The object of the research is a set of English
summative test of the second semester of the eighth grade students at SMP
Buddhis Silaparamita Jakarta in the 2016/2017 academic year which was tested
on Tuesday, June 6th, 2017.
From the analysis the writer found out that the percentage of reading skills
objective were 100%, the percentage of writing skills objective were 60%,
whereas the percentage of materials of reading were 100% and 60% for the
writing materials. And the content of the English summative test which
conformed with the syllabus requirements of School-based curriculum (KTSP)
were 80%.
The conclusion is the content validity of English summative test of the
first semester of the eighth grade students at SMP Buddhis Silaparamita Jakarta in
the 2016/2017 academic year is in line with the syllabus requirements of schoolbased curriculum. The benefit of this research is the teacher has known that the quality of English summative test is good and valid to be used as test in the
future.
