The purpose of the research was to get the factual data about the English
summative test for tenth grade students of SMKN 40 East Jakarta
2016/2017 academic year whether it had the quality of good test or not
in term of facility value, the discrimination index, and the distracter. In
accordance with the explanation above, the writer felt necessary to make
an analyzed of the English summative test that involved 58 students as
representative sample. Based on the data analysis of the research, the
tabulation of facility value showed the composition of test; 4 items in
the test or (13.3%) are classified as easy items, 26 items in test or
(86.7%) are classified as medium, and there are not classified as
difficult items. In the tabulation of discriminating index, the
composition of the test shows; 13 items in the test or (13%) are
classified as the poor items and need to be revised, 4 items in the test or
(13%) are classified as the good items that can be maintained, 5 items in
the test or (17%) are classified as the reject, and 17 items in the test or
(57%) are classified as the satisfactory. In the tabulation effectiveness of
distracters, the composition of the test shows; there are 46 effective
distracters in the test or (38%), 43 less effective distracters in the test or
(36%), and 31 ineffective distracters in the test or (26%). Therefore, it
can be concluded that the test composition is good enough because there
are 46 effective distracters or (38%) which can fulfill the classification
as the highest portion of the effectiveness of distracters. From the
findings of the research, the writer concluded that the English
summative test for tenth grade students of SMKN 40 East Jakarta
2016/2017 academic year has good quality of test in terms of the facility
value, the discrimination index, and the effectiveness of distracters.
