The objective of the research is to find the empirical evidence of whether or not the English summative test for the eighth grade students of SMPN 239 Jakarta in the first semester of the 2016/ 2017 academic year is in line with the English syllabus of School-Based Curriculum (KTSP).
The writer uses comparative descriptive analysis method. In this case, the writer compares the English summative test with learning objectives and materials based on (KTSP). The instruments are in the forms of checklists which are arranged based on the objectives and materials stated in the English syllabus of KTSP. The objectives and materials are identified and then arranged into the list. They are changed become the question as instrument.
From the analysis, the writer finds that the English summative test which was administered on the SMPN 239 Jakarta has valid. It was because the English summative tests are in line with the content of the syllabus. The percentage of reading objectives is 40%, reading materials are 100% and writing objectives are 50%, writing materials 12.5%. Moreover, the whole percentages of the objectives and the materials of those skills which are presented in the test are 50.625%.
