Teacher-made Try-out Test of English toward the Students’ Readiness in Taking
the National Examination; An Empirical Study to the Twelve Grade Students of
SMAN 37 Jakarta in 2016-2017 Academic Year. A paper, the Study Programme of

The objective of this research is find the emprical evidence of Predictive
Validity of the English of Try Out Test that is equal with the English test of UN in
2016/2017.
The research method applied through a survey involving a quantitave
analysis. The population respondent of the research were 108 of the Twelve Grade
of the SMAN 37 Jakarta. The writer took one Class the XII 1.A for the purposive
sample of research. The technique of data analysis by using normally test,
linearity test, and the Correlation Pearson’s Product Moment. The instruments of
the study were students score ofTry Out Test and UN score for collecting data
needed.
After analyzing the data, the writer got result robserved ( r0)=0.97 is higher
than rtable( rt)= 0.32. Because the r0> rt, it means that there is a siginificant
correlation between the Try Out Test score for the twelve grade students of
SMAN 37 Jakarta in first semesterof 2016/2017 academic year and UN test. From
the result above it can be said that the Try Out Test (T.O.T) for the twelve grade
students of SMAN 37 Jakarta in the first semster of 2016/2017 academic year is
valid.
