The purpose of this study is to get the empirical data of whether or not the English summative test for the seventh grade students of SMP AL KAUTSAR Kebayoran Baru in the first semester of the 2014/2015 academic year has the quality of good test in terms of facility value and discriminating power. The method of this study is a descriptive quantitative method. The writer analyzed the facility value and discriminating power of each item in the test. The facility value and discriminating power are shown in tabulations and simple statistics. Then, the writer described the quality and the weakness of the test items. There are 50 multiple choice items analyzed in this research. In the term of the facility value, there have been 16 items in the test or (32%) are categorized as easy items, 29 items in the test or (58%) are categorized as medium items, and 5 items in the test or (10%) are categorized as difficult items. In terms of the discriminating power, there have been 2 items in the test or (4%) are categorized as bad items and should be discarded, 3 items in the test or (6%) are categorized as poor items and should be revised and 45 items in the test or (90%) are categorized as accepted items. The findings of the study is that the English summative test for the seventh grade students of SMP AL KAUTSAR Kebayoran Baru in the first semester of the 2014/2015 academic year has good quality of test in terms of the facility value and discriminating power and the items can be used in the future test.
