The objectives of this research are to know the quality of the English summative test for the seventh grade students at MTsN 1 Karawang based on the quality of the items and to identify the test items which are to be accepted, revised and rejected.
The methods used in this research are quantitative and qualitative analysis method. Quantitative analysis is used to find the data of difficulty level and discriminating power scores. Meanwhile, qualitative analysis is used to describe the quality and the weakness of the items.
The sampling of this research is the seventh grade students of MTsN 1 Karawang that consist of 80 students which are devided into 2 classes.
Based on the analysis of this research, is is concluded that the English summative test which was administered at MTsN 1 Karawanghas been constructed with the quality of a good tets because from 40 items, there are 32 items out of 40 items can be accepted, 1 item should be rejected, and 7 items should be revised. Futhermore, the effectiveness of distractors, there are 75 distractors which are categorized as effective distracors, meanwhile 23 distractors which are categorized less effective distractors, and 22 disctractors which are categorized as ineffective distractors.
