The objective of this research is to know whether or not the English
summative test for the twelfth grade students of Setia Negara Depok Senior High
School in the first semester has been constructed with the quality of a good test in
term of facility value, discriminating power and the effectiveness of distracters.
The methods in this research are quantitative and qualitative analysis
method. Quantitative analysis was used to analyze the data of the facility value,
discriminating power and the effectiveness of distracters. Meanwhile, qualitative
analysis is used to describe the quality and the weakness of the items.
The respondent of this research were 60 students of the third grade
students of Setia Negara Depok Senior High School in 2015-2016 academic years
which are divided into 2 classes. The facility value of English summative test in
Setia Negara Depok Senior High School is easy level because the category gets
the highest percentage about 47% or 1690. discriminating power of English
summative test in Setia Negara Depok senior high school is poor level about 37%
or 1330, and the effectiveness of distractors are 53.30% effective and 44.40%
ineffective.
Based on the analysis of this research, the English summative test which
has been administered at Setia Negara Depok Senior High School has been not
constructed with a good quality because the test does not fulfill the criteria of a
good test.
