The purpose of this research is to get empirical data whether there is a relationship between students‟ ability to use vocabulary and listening comprehension of eighth grade of MTs. Sa‟adatuddarain Junior High School South Jakarta in the 2015/2016 academic year. The research was started on 3rd June until 14th June 2016. The subject of the research was VIII D class and the participants consisted of 35 students. The method is used quantitative data by doing test of vocabulary and listening comprehension. The data will be analyzed by using the Pearson‟s Product Moment formula for two variables; vocabulary and listening comprehension.
The finding of the research showed that the calculation of correlation analysis is (ro) 0.96 and (rt) is 0.349 in the level significance P = 0.05 with n = 3, so Ho is rejected and Hi is accepted. Then on regression analysis there is contribution of vocabulary to listening comprehension that can be seen statistically Ŷ = a + bXi = -41.18 + 1.29Xi and the percentage of the two variables is 92.16%. It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between students‟ ability to use vocabulary and listening comprehension of eighth grade of Mts. Sa‟adatuddarain Junior High School South Jakarta in the 2015/2016 Academic Year.
