The objective of the study is to know whether there is significant relationship or not between students’ conjunction mastery and descriptive writing on the eighth grade of the second semester at SMP Islam Ar-Rahman Ciledug in 2012/2013 academic year.
The population of this research consists of the entire eighth grade student which is distributed into 4 classes and the sample of the research is 25 students of VIIIA. The class had been taken because there were students with low, middle, and high level of the cleverness. The instruments used for getting the data were test of conjunction mastery and writing test. The scores of the students were calculated by using Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation.
The result of the data analysis showed that the coefficient t-observed is higher than t-table (to > tt) = (2.21 > 1.71). It means that there is a coefficient relationship between students’ conjunction mastery and descriptive writing on the eighth grade of the second semester at SMP Islam Ar-Rahman Ciledug in 2012/2013 academic year. The result of this research is expected to be helpful for the students especially for the English teachers to help them in designing the next program or lesson plan for the students. Thus, the students’ conjunction mastery and descriptive writing can improve.
