The objective of this research were to analyze the English summative test item on the second semester of the ninth grade students of SMP Negeri 239 Jakarta and to identify which items are needed to be accepted, revised, and rejected. The method of the research is both quantitative and qualitative analysis methods. Quantitative analysis is used to discover the data of difficulty level and discriminating power scores. Meanwhile, qualitative analysis was used to describe the quality of the item. The sampling of this research is the ninth grade students of SMPN 239 Jakarta around 68 students for the 2 classes. Based on the analysis of this research, the English summative test was held in SMPN 239 Jakarta on March, 10th 2016. It showed that the result was not good. Related to 50 items, there were 35 items accepted, 6 items had to be rejected, 7 items had to be revised, and 1 item was canceled.
