The objective of the study is to find the empirical evidence whether or not the English summative test for the eighth grade students of SMPN 210 Jakarta in the first semester of the 2015/2016 academic year has content validity.
In this research, the writer used comparative descriptive method. In this case, the writer compared the English summative test with the materials and indicators of syllabus of school-based curriculum (KTSP).
From the analysis, the writer found that the English summative test which was administered for the eighth grade students of SMPN 210 Jakarta in the first semester of the 2015/2016 academic has sufficient content validity. The writer got the percentages of reading materials are 57.14%, writing materials are 40%, reading indicators are 36.36%, and writing indicators are 50%. The result showed that the calculation of all percentage is 45.87% of English summative test contents which conform to the syllabus requirements of school-based curriculum. Based on Arikunto’s scheme of the conformity level, it can be said that the English summative test contents which was administered for the eighth grade students of SMPN 210 Jakarta in the first semester of the 2015/2016 academic year is sufficient.
