The objective of this research is to find an empirical evidence of the reliability of the test. The writer used a survey method using correlation technique. The population of this research was the tenth grade students of SMAN 5 Kabupaten Tangerang. The writer took 32 students of one class for the samples of the research. The data which the writer got from the research were analyzed using the Pearson’s Product Moment Analysis formula.
Based on the data analysis, it was found the observed coefficient (ro) was 0.68 and the value of the table of r-distribution, (rt) was 0.361. Because the ro>rt, the HO was rejected and the Hi was accepted. It gives empirical evidence to the writer to make a conclusion that the English summative test for the tenth grade students of the second semester of SMAN 5 Kabupaten Tangerang in the 2014/2015 academic year is RELIABLE.
