The objective of this study is to find the empirical evidence of whether or not the English Summative test items for the Eleventh Grade Students of SMAN 46 South Jakarta on 2015-2016 Academic Year can be categorized as a good test based on difficulty level and the discriminating power.
The method of the research that is used in this study is descriptive-quantitative and qualitative. It means the quantitative analysis is used to analyze the level of difficulty, the discriminating power. Meanwhile, the qualitative method is used to describe the quality and the weakness of test items
The analysis showed from 30 items, there had been 12 items have to be revised. There were 2 items rejected, 16 items were accepted. From the data, it can be stated that English summative test for the first semester students of the eleventh grade of SMAN 46 Jakarta have fulfilled the criteria of a good test. It means that most of the English summative test item has good quality.
